Why Exmoor National Park trained Mental Health First Aiders?

I am delighted to share this great testimonial and recommendation from Exmoor National Park who trained four of their staff as Mental Health First Aiders with us.

‘We are a signatory to the Charter for Employers who are Positive About Mental Health, part of the  MINDFUL EMPLOYER®  initiative. As such, we are committed to showing a positive and enabling attitude to employees with mental health issues. Mental Health First Aid training was sourced to ensure we are better informed to recognise the signs that someone may need help, to help make mental wellbeing part of wider ‘wellbeing at work’ initiatives and therefore help reduce any stigma around discussing mental wellbeing, and to ensure colleagues can turn to a trained member of staff to seek help.

Our MHFA training provided by Astra Training and Consultancy met our aims completely. Four members of staff attended the training which provided the right blend of theory, shared lived experience, discussion and practice.  All attendees came away with greater knowledge and confidence to put this into practice in the work environment. Useful additional learning was gained through training our staff as a group alongside individuals from other sectors, particularly when discussing how to apply the learning in the workplace.

Based on our  whole experience (from discussing training needs, through the ease of booking places, choice of training venue and course delivery) I recommend Astra as a MHFA training provider.’
